Building Project Management Capability through Project Management Mentoring

Helping individual Project Managers to achieve their best through one to one mentoring meant this Porfolio of Projects could deliver more for the business.

Brief
Working with a partner organisation, for a public sector client in the education sector, we were asked to support a team of internal Project Managers in the delivery of a multi-million pound programme to PRINCE2 methodology and Programme Office standards.

Outcome
After an initial assessment to identify areas of greatest need, we provided targeted support to the Project Managers while also ensuring the successful transfer of skills to the team. We helped to put two projects that initially had critical status back on track to meet tight deadlines. To help embed the changes we provided support on an ‘as needs’ basis over a period of four months and aligned mentoring with Programme Support Office activities to ensure a long term solution.
